The University of Alabama at Birmingham Blazers used a dominant 28-0 run to topple the Georgia Southern University men’s basketball team by a score of 84-62 Sunday.

With 7:45 left in the first half, senior guard Brian Holmes made a three pointer to put GSU up 21-15. The Blazers responded with 28 unanswered points and established a lead that proved to be too much for the Eagles to overcome.

Junior guard Chad Frazier led the way for the Blazers with 19 points on 6-of-8 shooting and six assists in 27 minutes of play. Senior guard Jordan Swing added 12 points, five rebounds, and five assists.

It was a difficult night offensively for the Eagles, including the duo of redshirt junior guard Jelani Hewitt and senior guard Tre Bussey. Hewitt and Busssey finished with seven and eight points respectively and combined to shoot 5-of-25 from the field.

Junior guard Curtis Diamond finished the game as the leading scorer for GSU with 13 points.

The Eagles return home to take on Kennesaw State University on Wednesday at 7 p.m. and will look to get back to .500.
