This weekend the Georgia Southern University women’s basketball team traveled to Boca Raton, Fla. to enter into the Florida Atlantic University Thanksgiving Tournament.

The Eagles fell in game one to FAU 82-58.

FAU shot out to an early lead while senior point guard Mimi Dubose and junior guard Anna Claire Knight struggled to keep up. The Owls went on a 14-2 point run early ending the half at 45-17.

The second half featured an intense Eagle comeback where they shot 50 percent in the paint. However the Eagles found themselves with too much of a deficit to mount a comeback.

Statistically, many players on GSU showed improvement. Four players scored above ten points including Dubose with 14 and Knight with 11.

Senior forward Danielle Spencer also racked up 11 points and seven rebounds while senior guard Lacie Dowling got 10 points and five rebounds of her own.
