Eagles look to continue win streak as they resume conference play at home

The Georgia Southern men’s basketball team, coming off of a strong two game road trip in Alabama, take on the 8-11 University of Texas at Arlington on Thursday.

The UTA Mavericks are currently on a four game winning streak, with their last loss being to GS on Jan. 5. They hold a 4-2 conference record.

Standout guard Edric Dennis tallied a season high 32 points in their previous match against Little Rock, and leads the team averaging 15.5 points. Rashad Davis carries the team in rebounds, with 106 rebounds accumulated this season alone.

The Mavericks have totaled a 3-7 away record this season. At the last meeting of these two teams, GS defeated UTA 77-64. It was a strong game for redshirt-sophomore gaurd Quan Jackson with 21 points and seven rebounds, and junior forward Isaiah Crawley tallied 15 points and six rebounds.

GS is looking to improve to 13-7 before heading into back to back games of the two strongest teams in the Sun Belt, Texas State and Georgia State.
