‘Tasting Statesboro’ to dish out community service

Today, the Statesboro community will have the unique opportunity of trying local dishes all in place at the Tasting Statesboro.

The 4th Annual Tasting Statesboro will be held at The Belle House from 5-7:30 p.m.

The event will allow restaurants to share their food will giving back to the communities around them.

Over 35 local restaurants including Chops on Main, Shane’s Rib Shack, Groucho’s Deli, Retrievers, Zaxby’s, Barberitos, Locos, 40 East Grill, and Sugar Magnolia will have dishes to sample.

It is being held by the United Way of Southeast Georgia which works in Bulloch, Candler, Evans, Emanuel, Jenkins and Tattnall County.

The money will go to directly benefiting local charities including Boy Scouts, Girl Scouts, the Food Bank, Area Christians Together in Service, American Red Cross, Boys & Girls Club, Bulloch Alcohol and Drug Council, Bulloch Med Connections, Court Appointed Special Advocates, Concerted Services, GSU Senior Companion Program, Hearts and Hands Clinic, Homebound Services, Library Literacy Services, Parent to Parent, Prevent Child Abuse, Citizens Against Violence and Whitesville Community Resource Center.

Live music performances will be given by Greg Kearney and Tall Paul Band.

There will also be a silent auction and raffle held at the event.
