Georgia Southern University’s men’s basketball team defeated Mississippi Valley State University 63-52 with the lead the entire game.

Leading the Eagles was junior forward Eric Ferguson with 19 points, seven rebounds, one assist and one steal. Also, senior guard C.J. Reed posted 12 points, eight rebounds and three assists.

The Eagles came out ready to play, when, in the first half, they shot 50 percent from the field and 50 percent from behind the arc, while the Delta Devils shot 23.1 percent from the field and 18.2 percent from behind the arc.

Both of the teams struggled with turnovers in the first half, which led to a lot of points off of turnovers for both teams. In the second half, the Delta Devils picked up their game and started to test the Eagles’ lead. The Delta Devils scored three more points than the Eagles did in the second half, but the 33-19 lead from the first half kept GSU ahead the entire game. The Eagles will play the University of California at Bakersfield or North Florida University on Sunday, December 3rd in Las Vegas, Nevada.
