Women’s tennis went 1-1 on the weekend after facing both conference opponents UT Arlington and Texas State.

UTA (L; 2-4)

The Eagles faced the Mavericks Saturday, March 30 and fell 2-4 despite claiming the doubles points early on in the match.

Duo senior Lindsay Truscott and freshman Luisa Hrda took their doubles win 6-1 for the Eagles, as did partners junoir Paula Boixader and sophomore Charlotte Van Dieme as they defeated UTA 6-1 as well.

Singles-wise the Eagles were lacking as GS only picked up two singles wins, one of those wins being Hrda’s ninth straight win.

TXST (W; 4-1)

Early on the Eagles dropped the doubles points to TXST, but were able to redeem themselves by leading in singles play.

Senior Emilia Bujan sealed the victory for the Eagles after going 5-7, 6-2, 6-4 in her matches. Hrda also contributed to the GS win by going 6-2, 6-1 allowing her to claim her tenth straight win.

After the weekend the Eagles look at an overall record of 11-9 as well as a conference record of 3-3. GS will be back in action as they hit the road to take on conference opponents Appalachian State Friday and Coastal Carolina Sunday.
