Georgia Southern University’s softball team finished out their weekend series with a 7-1 win against the University of Tennessee at Chattanooga.

After a tough Saturday with two losses to the Mocs, the Eagles came back out on the field on Sunday a new team. In the first inning alone, GSU took advantage of two walks and a wild pitch to get the bases loading, allowing two RBI’s from two singles.

The next three innings went scoreless, with a score of 2-0 in favor of the Eagles. Then in the fifth inning, GSU showed back up at the plate with a homerun from junior infielder Kourtny Thomas and another RBI from a single. Finally, in the seventh inning, more walks led to the bases loaded once again for the Eagles, leading to three more runs on the board.

The Eagles will continue to play on the road on Wednesday, April 10 in a doubleheader against Georgia State University at 4 p.m. and 6 p.m.
