The Georgia Southern University baseball team drops their fourth game in a row with a 5-3 loss to Mercer University.

A pair of two-run homers in the first and second inning put the Bears on top of the Eagles 4-0 and that lead held up until the fourth inning when GSU scored three runs of their own to bring the game within one.

In the sixth inning the Bears managed to put another run on the board to get the 5-3 win.

Senior pitcher Josh Stevenson picked up the loss after throwing for five innings giving up nine hits, five earned runs and striking out six.

Stephen Glaze recorded the win for the Bears pitching 2.2 innings while allowing only one hit and no runs.

Junior infielder Robbie Dodds went 1-4 at the plate with one run scored and one RBI.

The Eagles get the chance to stop their losing streak at home tomorrow when they face off against Kennesaw State University at 6 p.m.
